Artist's Comments

These pieces of art are to be found on a wall in Helsinki - Finland. They look as grumpy as Finnish men when there's no vodka in the house or onboard :o) Look a bit closer - someone has put a cigarette in the left one's mouth :-)

I have no idea what the meaning of the statues is, however, they caught my attention in a way, a sweetish looking angel-statue would have never done it !!

well, Pohjola is a location in Finnish mythology, it's to be found in the national epic "Kalevala". It means The Nordic Land or Northland in English, and that's where the evil witch Louhi lived:D It's also where the foundation of the world pillar was, so maybe that explains it.
