A photo of Finnish flags, taken in the capital of Finland, Helsinki a few years ago.
It's said that the white in the flag stands for the snow they have in winter, and the blue for the water in the many thousands of lakes they have.

It's a pleasure to meet another Finland-lover !! Whow, most people really think it's just cold and boring up there and they make sOO big eyes when they hear that in summer it almost doesn't get dark.
Oh but on the other side, I thought these foxes are anyways getting everywhere nowadays hehe ! :-) Where from England are you - not sure whether I am entitled to ask that question without sounding indiscreet YAY - I'm pretty familiar to Portsmouth and Newcastle, Geordies are sweet but a bit hard to understand sometimes.

I love the cold :XD: Snow and lots of it! Ah yes I have heard of the midnight sun there. When we went, the sun never rose over the horizon. What got me the most was the Northern Lights! Magical to say the least! :)

I'm In the Midlands, right in the middle of England :D

I haven't seen the Northern lights ever I must admit - so sorry, no photos of that - but I have something for you, which you might enjoy to look at later on, at a very very hot summer day :D Something to cool down...

Aah - yes !! But it always depends when I am going there, it's unfortunatelly not so that I have always the choice. I do have a good chance to spend Midsummer up there though, then when it's almost not getting dark, and then there are people who think that summer happens only at the South - while there it does last the whole day apart from a few hours between midnight and 02.00. That's simply hard to beat heh !!

Ooh - I can understand that very well - I think I am going again in July, and I am very much looking forward to that :-) There are a few more Finland-pics on my collection !
